Pam: We are entering uncharted (for us) territory: getting old, then, hopefully, getting really old. It dawned on me when we were at Grant’s last doctor’s appointment, it is like having your first baby. Your whole life is different. Of course billions of other people have had this experience. But it is the first time for you. Other people try to explain what to expect and how to prepare. You read books, you think you have an idea, but nothing is like the actually of being in your new life. That’s what I want to explore and record here: our new lives as old people. Grant: Grant already feels like really old is here. I am still mobile, moderately healthy, and alert (when not taking a seated, unexpected, nap). But I still read silly SciFi and Fantasy novels, play stupid computer games, and cook most meals. To the exclusion of most other stuff.
